Validated users, once signed in, can post to this blog in a number of ways:
- Use the New Post link at the top of the blog. You can include pictures etc by using the various facilities in the editor which appears.
- Send to an email address. A secret email address can be created to allow this (see below). This can be used from any email program, phones which support emails and applications such as Photoshop Elements 9.
- Send from a mobile device using MMS.
To setup for using email:
- Click the New Post link at the top of the blog.
- Click the Settings tab.
- Enter a secret word to make up a complete email address. Don't publish this otherwise it could be used by others.
- Select 'Publish emails immediately'.
- Click 'Save Settings'.
You can now email the complete email address to post to the blog:
- The subject line of the email becomes the blog post title.
- Pictures should be sent as attachments - if pictures are sent 'in-line' (formatted into the message content), they will not appear in the blog.
- You can always edit the postings later directly from the blog.
To setup for using MMS from a mobile:
- Click the New Post link at the top of the blog.
- Click the Settings tab.
- The mobile devices section has full information about setting up. (Links suggest using SMS instead of MMS but I think it's US only).
Please don't post pictures which are too big! The space is limited on free accounts - additional space will have to be paid for! I generally post images which are no more than about 200kb in size and often a lot less. I think this means the blog can have 5000 or so images.
